A leavers’ disco that feels like your class
Children in their final primary year like having a say. Let them collect favourite songs beforehand and ask what they would rather skip. Not every class wants a dance competition or a game. The DJ uses those wishes to adapt the music and presentation. Joining in should feel inviting, not compulsory.
The disco can follow the school performance or take place on a separate afternoon or evening. After a long programme, a shorter dance party may work better than another full evening. From the school performance to a well-organised party
Start with your date, venue and pupil numbers. A school hall, sports hall or hired room can work well if there is clear space to dance and access for the DJ’s equipment. Tell us about access times, power and any sound restrictions. An outdoor party also needs shelter and an alternative for bad weather.
